Actions from last meeting

Restena announces they have been allocated a range of IPv6 addresses by RIPE. They will deploy a dual stack IPv4/IPv6 on the whole Restena network by September 2003.

Additionally, Restena is now able to offer IPv6 peering at the Luxembourg Internet Exchange (LIX). Interested ISPs should contact Restena to make further arrangements.
It is suggested to make a public announcement related to the support of IPv6 by the LIX.

DNSv6: Restena is still pursuing tests. Further contacts should be launched with the Internet Software Consortium to seek the deployment of Bind v9.

EuroDNS, a DNS registrar, wishes to offer support for IPv6 ASAP.

IPv6: A National Challenge & Opportunity Briefing on worldwide IPv6 TF Initiatives

This presentation by Latif Ladid highlighted the history of the IPv6 related development projects and their relevance to the Luxembourg IPv6 Task Force. Latif suggested Restena could get in touch with the BIND developers regarding the implementation of DNSv6.

Data Protection in IPv6

The discussion was based on the Article 29 Working party document : http://europa.eu.int/comm/internal_market/en/dataprot/wpdocs/wp58_en.pdf

The IPv6 Forum has reacted to this publication to indicate it was wrong on several accounts. Nevertheless, Patrice Hsson stressed that EU regulations regarding privacy should be respected.

Other documents were mentioned:

"Les enjeux du dépoiement du protocole IPv6", une étude de IDATE pour le gouvernement français
The Economics of IP Networks – Market, Technical and Public Policy Issues Relating to Internet Traffic Exchange
